The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety (ADPS) provides Law Enforcement, Fire Rescue, Medical, and Emergency Communication services to the public. In this dual role, I oversaw the Recruiting, Coordination, and Hiring process & Public Affairs Operations for the city. Recruiting & Hiring Operations My team and I were responsible for the recruitment & hiring of first responders. This multiphase process included pre-qualifying applicants, coordinating interviews and multiple testing phases, in-depth background investigations, presenting offers, and scheduling onboarding activities. •Re-designed and streamlined the hiring process, including official policy changes, resulting in >50% reduction in time to hire. •Filled a 13% staffing shortage (Police) and 7% staffing shortage (911) <9 months. •Coached junior recruiter in recruiting, outreach, and onboarding best practices. •Pioneered a qualified candidate referral agreement with two neighboring agencies. •Increased minority representation within the organization >10% through direct sourcing, referrals, military transition and university partnerships.
