As Senior Managing Director of Investment Accelerators, I support multiple accelerator programs in Southern markets from recruitment to post-program fundraising.

The Bronze Valley Investment Accelerator invests in up to five companies per year led by women entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs of color. In addition to a $100K investment, each participating startup will receive 12 weeks of concierge, mentorship-based programming.

Bronze Valley Accelerator is a free, seven-week accelerator for early-stage companies with local roots. Each program is capped at five teams, and requires no fees and no equity. As Director of Innovate Birmingham, I️ worked with a consortium of community partners to create pathways for local talent to fill the skills gap in the IT industry.• Manage a $6M U.S. Department of Labor funded workforce development program in technology to train 925 young people in Birmingham for high-wage tech jobs• Manage a 15+ organization partnership and 10 full time employees• Manage all grant-related subcontract agreements and budgets through UAB Accounting; manage effort reporting and accounting for $2M committed in-kind by community partners• Serve as point of contact for UAB leadership and the Department of Labor; responsible for all quarterly and annual grant reporting• Oversee program evaluation and evolve strategies to meet program outcomes • Co-led development and launch of US Department of Labor registered IT apprenticeship program

• Coordinate and manage training for 400 program participants, including recruitment, admissions, intake, professional development, technical training and certification, and transition to employment, in accordance with program specifications and funding limitations to meet program targets• Direct, coach, and support 11 direct reporting relationships, manage interdisciplinary team of partners• Direct the operations of training programs; independently design, develop and administer program content including policies and procedures• Budget, reconcile, and report personnel, supplies procurement, and participant incentives in accordance with UAB Office of Sponsored Programs and Department of Labor grant requirements• Manage organizational financial and human capital including payroll and benefit administration as Chief Operations Officer of I am Bham, Inc.• Maintain and manage data reporting in multiple databases, including regular updates of all student, team, and program outcomes in accordance with grant funding, as well as evaluation survey and interview data

• Coordinate all program logistics to ensure participants are prepared to learn and advance toward their personal goals• Create and maintain standard operating procedures library for program processes• Organize training seminars to address staff needs & identify relevant external training opportunities when applicable• Assist student support team in addressing any student issues

• Prepare and manage compliance documentation for qualitative and quantitative research• Clearly articulate strategy, timeline, and metrics to reach objectives determined by committee• Collect, track, and analyze data from diverse sources inform scientific literature and policy • Responsible for ongoing communication and dissemination of research findings

• Assisted principal investigator in conducting literature review concerning religion, substance abuse and mental health among immigrants in the United States.• Assisted principal investigator in revisions and data management for research on aging in contemporary society using data from the United States Census.

Conducting quantitative data analysis and collaborating with research team in conceptualizing research questions and analysis plan using Mississippi Delta Cervical Cancer Screening Outreach Survey.

Assisted faculty in teaching related activities including discussion facilitation, grading, and student communications.

• Review, evaluate, and critique scientific literature including policy and methodological analysis concerning diverse populations• Collect, track, and use qualitative and quantitative data from diverse sources to understand current evidence, inform decisions, and determine appropriate analysis procedures to conduct research• Create and communicate goals, metrics, and timelines to meet objectives determined by grant and departmental goals• Responsible for coordinating consistent communication with peer and senior partners through regular calls, emails, meetings, and online project tools• Maintain contact with collaborators and program staff to provide updates on project status and outcomes• Extensive training and experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods including writing interview guides, conducting and coding interviews, and analyzing qualitative data

• Advocate for domestic and international poverty alleviation and health equality among federal legislators• Regularly produce content for diverse stakeholders such as existing and potential group members, media, potential funders, and policymakers, raising awareness of issues surrounding poverty and inequality in the U.S. and globally

• Collect and summarize data collected from regional partners to identify priorities for graduate student employment needs• Advocate for graduate student interests on issues such as science and education funding, student loans, student visas, and open access among federal legislators• Develop training and online resources for graduate students concerning transitioning to employment, such as career resources workbook and best practices for higher education shared governance• Regularly produce content addressing issues of concern to graduate students, including responses to legislation affected graduate student health insurance policies, employee protection, and LGBTQ+ rights

During the summer of 2013, I received a global health internship from the Sparkman Center for Global Health and Hacettepe University. During this time, I worked in the Institute of Population Studies at Hacettepe University, researching experiences of female Muslim migrants in Europe.
