About Hoa Tran
If there is one word that has been a constant in my career it's the word "trust". I find it between a client and myself and it drives me to be the best fiduciary to their interest. I find it at my employer when I look for sustainable and human-centric business growth. I find it in conversations with colleagues which always leave me in awe of their talent. I deliver on client trust by changing my conversations from the usual "digital marketing mystery lingo" to a more simple conversation of "what does it deliver for the client's business". That evolved to a mindset where the "client-contractor" relationship was replaced by a "extension of the client". The focus of the conversation became helping my client report to showcase the opportunity of digital marketing. One of the mantras you would (and still will) find me repeating to colleagues is "pretend it's your own money".Over the years I have also become more vocal on organizational change that is needed to survive and compete at the highest level. Often the adage of "doing the same things expecting different results" comes to mind. At times, breaking conventional ways of working is needed to balance the (future) ask from clients with the actual (future) capability of an organization.Trust - at it most visceral, but also most transformational - comes from conversations with my colleagues. I have continuously found myself in deep conversations with people, where I am always surprised by unlocked potential just a few questions away. I truly believe that I should never be "someone's ceiling" and that people can and should grow beyond my own potential. My job is done when I am no longer needed. Trusting your colleagues to grow and achieve beyond your own capabilities, trusting your company to have the will and stamina to empower said colleagues will eventually lead to that trusted partner clients are looking for.
