Nasa Community College Aerospace Scholars
During my participation in the NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) program, I had the opportunity to engage in NASA's Mission 1: Discover. This immersive experience involved live and recorded subject matter expert lectures, interactive multimedia on NASA content, interactions with fellow aerospace scholars, knowledge assessments including a final project, and guidance and support from trained professional educators.Through this program, I developed a deep understanding of NASA's various directorates, including the Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate (ESDMD), the Science Mission Directorate (SMD), the Space Operations Mission Directorate (SOMD), the Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD), and the Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD).For my final project, I focused on NASA's Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD), which particularly caught my interest as it is responsible for the development of new technologies that will shape the agency's future missions. My research and analysis demonstrated a real-world application of the knowledge I gained throughout the program.Participating in NCAS has given me invaluable insights into NASA's work and the critical role each directorate plays in supporting the agency's missions.
