Hockin was conferred BEng Degree in Civil Engineering from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in July 2018. He joined SMEC Asia Ltd. as a Graduate Engineer upon completion of his studies. He was promoted as an Assistant Engineer in July 2021 after he completed “Scheme A” training with the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE). In August 2023, he was further promoted as Engineer and became a Chartered Engineer under the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).He gained hands-on design experience in civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering works, such as the design of retaining walls, site office, Architectural Builders Works and Finishes (ABWF), site formation, and foundations. On site, he gained experience in the supervision of multiple disciplinary projects, such as slope upgrading, site formation, and submarine cable landing facilities installation. He also participated in projects of other natures, such as condition surveys, tender documents preparation, Express of Interest (EoI) to tender, technical and fee proposals, etc., and is familiar with project management. He took multiple roles including Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, and Project Manager for a variety of projects.Hockin is currently residing in Adelaide, South Australia, pursuing Master in Construction Management at The University of Adelaide, graduating in November 2025.
