Formed as part of the State Health Emergency Response Plan, the SHICC is a designated WA health system facility which provides strategic coordination of the state health response following a major incident. It provides coordination between external agencies and the WA health system. As Project Officer, I perform project management and support activities contributing to the development and delivery of a range of programs within the SHICC in line with WA Health’s COVID-19 Strategic Response and established objectives. These include:• Preparing reports and briefs, coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation and implementing and monitoring project plans. Ensuring project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope.• Communicating with key stakeholders to coordinate working groups and committees. Facilitating the exchange of information to support program completion in line with project plans.• Sourcing, collating and compiling data and information to identify emerging risks and issues and track and report on project progress against established milestones and deliverables.Achievements:• Refined the SHICC Strategic Risk Register, establishing a monthly reporting cadence, updating and presenting to functional head leads.• Coordinated the development of a Readiness Program and facilitated working sessions with the goal of mitigating key program issues. • Communicated with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the on-going development of a plans register, supporting business continuity and enabling legislative compliance.

Internationally renowned and one of Western Australia’s most iconic events, the Rottnest Channel Swim is a 19.7km open water swim from Cottesloe Beach to Rottnest Island. I am responsible for managing the entire end-to-end operations that enable project delivery culminating in the Rottnest Channel Swim, this role encompasses all strategic planning, operational coordination and project management tasks.Tasks include:• Managing all strategic planning to enable project delivery, from establishing the project timeline and milestones to creating quality assurance systems and risk management strategies. • Coordination of all project administration and managing complex regulatory approval processes.• Developing outreach strategies to establish and enhance productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Key Achievements:• A demonstrated high level of competence and proficiency in handover of the role, delivering the first event project within six weeks of commencing.• Recruitment, selection and training of a 120 strong volunteer workforce encouraging a higher level of professionalism and capability.• Identified an urgent need to improve online engagement, social media reach and digital communication, developed a report with detailed recommendations, and secured approval to implement those recommendation. This resulted in:• Coordinating and managing a complete website redesign to improve user experience • Auditing existing content and developing new content to engage current and future stakeholders• Liaising with web developers to create and roll out a new website and accompanying social media strategy

The Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) provides world-class facilities and resources to support West Australian athletes in achieving international sporting success. I was tasked with coordinating the operations necessary to commission and managing WAIS’ newly built, multi-purpose elite sports training facility, this role involved several key elements – assistance navigating the defects and liability period of the building construction, safety and quality compliance requirements; and establishing appropriate policies, systems and procedures to enable the ongoing operations of the facility. Key areas of responsibility included:Managing the defects register and addressing key issues necessary to commission the facility and all related programs. Developing appropriate facility policies and processes to enable optimal use, including building security, access protocols, booking systems, records management, compliance, OHS and equipment maintenance. Overseeing contract management, which involved assessing contract delivery to determine adherence with contractual and service level agreements.
