As a marriage and family therapist, I believe struggles are part of a larger system. Relationships in the past and present affect how we see ourselves and the world around us, both positively and negatively. My approach to therapy is to join you in your journey to “connect the dots” of your life experiences in order to understand the present. I believe you are the expert of your life story and have the ability to effect change.I use a variety of approaches in therapy, but tend to focus on helping find solutions that work for the couple, family, or individual based on their needs. This can typically look like empowering parents to communicate more effectively with their children and/or parenting partner, clarifying wants, needs, and expectations within a couple, or gaining clarity on life’s direction in general. I received my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2016 from Fuller Theological Seminary Arizona and have since worked as a marriage and family therapist in the state of Minnesota working with couples, families, adults, and adolescents. I also have previous experience working with adolescents with anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorders as well as their families.
