    Colin L. Powell Center May 2011 - May 2013
The Colin Powell Fellowship program is a two year program designed for students to be exposed into the processes behind the creation of public policy. Through weekly seminars, research, and internships, the program is also designed to bring a strong sense of civic engagement of each fellow, and the fuller understanding of economic development, education, health care, environmental concerns, international development, and global security issues. In this respect I am gaining a huge insight into incorporating my previous knowledge in medicine and international affairs and producing practical results that might produce realistic beneficial outcome throughout the world.
  • Unf Global Classrooms
    Model United Nations Secretariat
Unf Global Classrooms Feb 2010 - May 2013
As an experienced Model United Nations competitor throughout High School and Undergraduate University, I was chosen to be a member of the Dais in Middle School and High School conferences all over the city. I was also chosen to run the 2012 Global Classroom's New York City conference by being its Secretary General. This included the international high school conference (GCI MUN) held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, and I was the only freshman to be picked to work at that conference. Usually as a Chair or a Director, I have the responsibility for providing facts to the delegates, help revise and fix resolutions that are presented to the committee, and help run the committee using parliamentary procedure over the course of the conference. This involved research in many broad topics in international relations, ranging from infectious diseases to refugee situations all over the world.

  • New York City Fire Department
    Oma Intern
New York City Fire Department Aug 2009 - Feb 2010
During my time at the Fire department, I was given the opportunity to shadow many of the Office of Medical Affairs doctors. Majority of the time Dr. Kaufman at meetings, and during their time at the Emergency Department in Long Island Jewish Hospital in Long Island. In addition to that I attended many executive meetings and was given the task to review the material that was discussed and understand the high-level medical processes that form the foundation of the policy that governs pre-hospitalization care. Then taking that acquired knowledge about the process of pre-hospitalization care policy into the field. This was done by riding along with ambulances in the FDNY on their daily tours and treating patients in the field and transferring them to the Emergency Departments in hospitals all over the city.
