I am a senior leader focused on the intersection between health, data, research and technology in continuous learning environments (academia, industry, healthcare). My unique experiences enable me to serve as a bridge between these areas - doctoral scientific training, software engineering, and a fascinating and satisfying career as a Vice President for a major EHR vendor, where I led a team of 120+ professionals. In my role as the CRIO of the Children's Mercy Research Institute, I lead our strategy in data science, develop partnerships with strategic vendors and mentor investigators using a wide variety of data to support their research. My personal research emphasizes the use of "real world" large scale de-identified healthcare data to understand variation between guidelines and behavior in practice. I lead NIH funded projects to develop capabilities that are useful in understanding patterns of research and health disparities.
