After abandoning a doctoral degree in favor of a second Master's in freshwater wetland ecology at the University of South Florida, I dedicated myself full-time to managing my husband's CPA practice in Brandon, Florida and have never regretted it. I brought over 20 years of administrative experience to the company despite my time in the biological sciences for so many years. As Practice Manager since 2017 (and Vice President since 2019), I have helped grow our small home-based business to a $1.7M company in just 7 years.I had nearly 15 years of experience in environmental consulting, wetland management, biological monitoring, habitat restoration, and other ecological studies, and even more administrative experience. From January 2008 to January 2010, I was the Wetland Manager for the Seminole Tribe of Florida, overseeing conservation and mitigation of wetlands in nearly 100,000 acres of tribal lands across the state. My wetland management experience includes delineations and functional assessments utilizing federal and state methodologies, as well as permitting, mitigation planning, and monitoring. In my previous positions, I have worked on inland freshwater wetland permitting actions (including jurisdictional determinations, assessments and delineations), preparation of Section 404 permit applications, presentations to the Land Use and Water Commissions, and monitoring for permitted mitigation projects. I have environmental permitting experience at the state and federal level for projects involving the Guam Environmental Protection Agency, South and Southwest Florida Water Management Districts, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In addition to everyday office software, I am also proficient in: Thomson Reuters File Cabinet CS and Practice CS; Intuit Quickbooks Pro and Online Payroll; ESRI ArcGIS software applications; Garmin and Trimble handheld GPS devices; multiple field instruments. I am also certified in Advanced SCUBA, OSHA HAZWOPER and CPR/AED/First Aid, and speak and read passable Caribbean/Latin American-style Spanish.Specialties: - Environmental resource permitting (state and federal)- Wetland delineation and functional value assessments- Mitigation plan development and implementation- Biological monitoring (species identification, data collection and analysis)- Report writing- Project planning, tracking, management- Outreach/education- Government liaison- Practice management- Billing/collections- Workflow efficiency- Payroll processing
