Programme Management and Strategic Business Development of a global mobile phone industry organisation comprising 290+ member firms. GCF’s certification programme provides value to mobile phone manufacturers and operators through reducing time to market and providing a known level of interoperability between devices and networks thereby saving network operators operational and capital expense. The programme supports the certification of around 500 phone / device models per year.Key achievements:• Creation and on-going maintenance of the strategic plan.• Led executive level summit of the Indian mobile phone industry and local regulators as part of global expansion efforts resulting in increased membership from the region. • Conducted a study into the M2M and IoT markets to assess and prioritise GCF’s objectives and strategies in this new market.

My role in Nortel's Carrier Voice Division has been migrated into GENBAND. GENBAND acquired Nortel Carrier Voice Division on 28th May 2010. As my role develops in the new company I will post further updates.

- Leading virtual teams comprising of product managers, architects, sales and marketing to define standards and product development priorities.- Led teams on Carrier-Enterprise interconnect and network evolution to NGN / IMS.- Authored whitepaper for Carrier customers on Enterprise and Unified Communications.- Nortel prime for ETSI TISPAN. Experienced in influencing 3GPP and ITU-T.- Provided pre-sales bid support. Key input to product compliance priorities.

- Position within office of Chief Technology Officer – Strategic Standards Dept- Led Nortel's activities in ETSI TISPAN – the reference standards group for "Next Generation all-IP networks (NGN)". In particular, responsible for Nortel's positioning and resourcing of standards work in this new area. Continued into subsequent role.- Influence within regional and international standards recognized by my country – represented United Kingdom in International Telecommunications Union Telephony standardization sector (ITU-T) standards meetings on several occasions.- Influenced Cable industry international standards (in ITU-T Study Group 9) to ensure convergence with NGN standards thereby saving Nortel product development costs.

- Led standards strategy for interworking legacy networks call signalling (ISUP) to session setup signalling used in IP networks (SIP).- Influenced ITU-T Study Group 11 to adopt Nortel technology. Key contributor to ITU-T Recommendation Q.1912.5 (SIP-ISUP interworking) which has since been endorsed by regional (ETSI) and national (UK NICC) standards bodies and is in process of being implemented in networks worldwide. - Updated departmental processes to align with ISO9001:2000. Successfully led department through external audit.

- Development of a Radio Network planning tool to determine the capacity of Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) based mobile telephony networks.- Research into the types of user terminals that are likely to become available with the introduction of 3rd Generation mobile services and the advent of “mobile multimedia”.

- Conducted a feasibility study into replacing pneumatic fuel controllers with electrical controllers.

Developed DSP software (written in C++) to produce a “pseudo” power wave trace with known parameters with aim of verifying the output of a 3rd party piece of software.
