Led a team of 25 direct reports, integrating the needs of logistics, procurement, and contributing staff members in one fully integrated, client-oriented framework. Made significant progress in raising standards for end-to-end supply chain performance management, operational guidance, and vendor registration to all field missions, tribunals, and offices around the world.►Improved outreach activities of UN-member states; in turn, strengthening the collective’s accompanying vendor base, representing $3 billion in commercial and non-commercial goods and services. Expanded, developed, and implemented global supply chain performance KPIs, developing a new operational guidance methodology subsequently deployed to more than 100 field mission and office entities on five continents.

With a team of international professionals, led and developed UN Supply Chain operational guidance and performance management for all field missions, offices and tribunals globally. Set up and led UN Supply Chain Management first Enabling and Outreach Service.

Established, led new “Supply Quality from Factory to Home” program, directing and delivering global supply chain quality improvement programs that generated bottom line savings valued at €200 million. Onboarded a high-level, cross-functional global team, to establish new working methods for every supply chain function. Developed new global compliance tracking tool, implemented language directives mitigating risk to all IKEA and third-party supply chain functions worldwide, and initiated Lean Six Sigma projects. Over the course of 11 years, officed out of Conshohocken, PA, New York, NY, and Pratteln, Switzerland. ►Earned “IKEA Global Improvement Project of the Year” Award in 2012 for managing Six Sigma methodology-based quality campaigns: formalized quality and compliance programs with 30 percent annual KPI improvements with retailers in more than 15 countries. Lean Six Sigma Process Improvement with George Eckes, Älmhult, Sweden (2012).►In the aftermath of 2008-09 financial crisis, reversed more than 50 percent of the company’s $50 million in losses by conducting a complete remodel of indirect procurement strategy with vendor concentration over 50 percent, subsequently cutting more than 70 percent of administration invoices and time.►Built and led IKEA Indirect Material and Services North America, a $150 million supply chain organization for indirect materials and services needed to build and run all existing IKEA units, new stores, and warehouse projects in the United States, Canada, Japan, and Taiwan; also, developed contract performance management tools for full-contract lifecycle (from start-up to end-of-vendor-relation) with corporations valued at $50 million+ (initiated cost-down programs producing bottom line savings of greater than 10 percent).►Initiated and implemented “Trash to Cash” program, enabling the company to achieve cost neutrality for waste management while reducing $3 million annual spend.

Conducted regional and global procurement operations, leading and coaching a team of 65 to negotiate and manage supplier agreements in regards to production capacity, service, quality, social, and environmental compliance, as well as annual price reductions valued at more than €8 million; also, merged four trading service offices (Porto, Madrid, Paris, and Manchester) into one €400 million trading area for supplying home furnishings to all IKEA stores and warehouses around the world.►Developed and implemented global supply strategies for mattresses (2000-02) and wardrobe series (2003-04) with a 20 percent cost decrease over 18 months resulting in savings of more than €50 million for IKEA Complete Bedroom. ►Established, led IKEA Trading Office in Madrid (2000) with 15 co-workers to secure long-term supply of board and upholstery furniture, along with a global supply of plastics.►Researched, developed local €80 million supplier base in Spain to support IKEA’s expansion on the Iberian Peninsula, cutting corresponding landed costs by more than 30 percent.

Explored Spanish home furnishing industry market, started over 15 new suppliers, founded IKEA Trading Service office Madrid and served as their Managing Director while hiring 15 team leaders and staff and securing long term vendor relations and competitive sourcing.

Led and developed staff and global supplier competitiveness at IKEA's at the time 3rd largest volume Trading Services operation with 25 staff and suppliers in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Tunisia and Morocco.

Hired, developed and led staff during IKEA's major reorganization in 1993. Re-structured the supplier base during 1993 - 1995 with double digit annual volume growth and together with IKEA Trading Poznan, developed and implemented a 5 year strategy for IKEA Purchasing activities in Poland.
