In this role, I expanded Meridian’s process heat decarbonisation program and developed a demand-side response product, enabling process heat customers to earn additional revenue while supporting New Zealand's electricity grid. I collaborated with software vendors to lay the groundwork for a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) and launched an EV smart charging solution that shifted charging to off-peak overnight hours, passing on the benefits of cheaper electricity to customers.

I led the Basis management process, oversaw ancillary services contracts, provided guidance on locational pricing risk management, and conducted ASX NZ electricity futures trading. Additionally, I delivered technical analyses on power flow impacts, represented Meridian in industry matters, and cultivated strong relationships with key stakeholders. I also provided training and mentorship to team members.

I coordinated outages and performed security assessments to uphold grid security during maintenance activities. In my role as an Asset Compliance Analyst, I ensured the Grid Owner's compliance with the Electricity Industry Participation Code, managing the capability and accuracy of Grid Asset records. I oversaw asset re-rating processes and facilitated the exchange of asset capability information with the System Operator, ensuring that the Asset Capability Information System (ACI) produced accurate data for grid capability assessments. Additionally, I investigated and reported on breach allegations and upheld safety and health standards in all aspects of Grid Maintenance.
