Holland Young is an architectural designer and sustainability consultant who joined the team at Invizij in January, 2020. Holland grew up in Flamborough, Ontario and – after developing a keen interest in architecture and interior design during her time at high school – attended the University of Waterloo’s School of Architecture, completing their master’s program in 2015.Working at both large and small firms located in Toronto, Hamilton, and Vancouver has afforded Holland experience with many different project types and scales: from small interventions required to keep non-profit residential care facilities up to code, to forty-year master plans for sixty acres of private school campus. She has come to view every design challenge as a unique puzzle, and thoroughly enjoys researching and working with owners, builders, and industry professionals to come up with the best possible solution.Organized and detail-oriented, Holland is a talented programmer, space planner and communicator. She works with user groups to identify priorities and understand workflow, interpreting that information to develop facility programmes, spatial relationships, processes, and designs tailored specifically to optimize efficiency and quality of life. She is particularly interested in providing custom solutions for residential, cultural, and academic applications, and is passionate about environmentally and socially sustainable design.Holland is registered as an Intern Architect with the Ontario Association of Architects and is also an active member of the Hamilton Burlington Society of Architects.
