Currently serving as Regional Coordinator for the Central Ohio region of Poetry Out Loud, a national poetry recitation competition for high school students. Responsibilities:Facilitating a regional program for Poetry Out Loud with the Wild Goose Creative Executive Director, and with the support of the Ohio Arts Council.Actively recruiting area high schools to participate through email and personal visits.Developing a regional contest events calendar.Conducting a teacher’s training workshop in October 2016 which included hiring speakers for the event; publicizing the event through email; creating an event agenda; conducting the workshop by greeting participants and introducing agenda items. Workshop follow up included written thank you notes and contacting participants to make sure they had received a certificate.Planning a student workshop in February 2017. Includes hiring an experienced arts professional to provide preparation, practice and feedback to school champions; creating a workshop agenda; and providing communication to schools about the event, among other duties..Organizing a Poetry Out Loud finals event in February 2017, including selecting a venue, securing judges, accommodating school champions and their chaperones; and creating copy for event program, among other duties.
