Over the years, I mentored dozens of college interns from UCSD and SDSU which led to the first 3D animation course in !991 at UCSD Extension using Alias Power Animator on Silicon Graphics workstations at the San Diego Supercomputer Center. Many of my students went on to have successful careers in 3D animation and games.🎮 VIDEO GAME INDUSTRY IMPACTIn 1993, Sony built a game studio to make the first PlayStation games and I was brought on to hire/train 35 Artists and to develop tools and pipelines for the very first PlayStation video games. My first game as Lead Artist and 3D Animator was NFL Gameday which shipped 6 months early in time for the launch of the PlayStation in 1995. I went on to ship 10+ AAA PlayStation titles for Sony with the best teams an artist could hope for. In 1999 I became a Senior Shareholder and Art Director of the game startup RedZone, we made more AAA titles and were acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment America in 2001.🌐 Immersive TechnologiesAfter games I went into stereoscopic digital imaging (S3D) with the 3D Creative Team at Panasonic Hollywood. ⭐️ Past projects include the XR Creators Garden for ComicCon @Home in VR, Tripp VR, and a LACMA Monumental Perspectives + Snap AR experience in collaboration with Judy Baca.

Designed and taught a Panasonic 3D Filmmaking certification course using 3D Panasonic video cameras. The University level course was taught in a train-the-trainer environment and included a 3D interactive course presentation, hands-on filming and editing, and a 50-page handbook that covered stereoscopic history, vision, theory, preproduction, filming, and editing. Worked with Panasonic's 3D Creative Team at The Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory on S3D film and media projects, tested Panasonic gear and demonstrated 3D gear at Panasonic media events.
I stayed home with my daughters while designing stereoscopic 3-D art shows, and teaching 3D film & VFX. Over the years I invested in real estate and in 2008 I lost $7 million in beach front properties and had to start my career over.
Built a video game startup with two partners, hired 65+ talented and creative people, cranked out 5+ AAA games, and enjoyed all the benefits of small team collaboration. Three years in, the company was purchased by Sony Computer Entertainment of America.
