I worked in the Media Services department, responsible for producing the corporate materials within the Service, ranging from leaflets, posters and booklets through to roller banners, promotional products, Microsoft Word templates, infographics and interactive pdfs. I worked daily on an Apple Mac Pro using Adobe Creative Suite 6, namely InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge and Acrobat Professional.I liaised directly with clients, from initial meetings through to the delivery of the final product. I regularly worked with external print companies, acquiring three quotes to ensure value-for-money, preparing the artwork for print and approving proofs. I requisitioned any new orders through our Agresso Finance system, monitored the stock situation and ordered as necessary to ensure the department ran smoothly.I was also the Fire Service photographer taking photos for news stories, one-off events and for stock image purposes – this also included video production and editing on Final Cut Pro. I worked closely with the Corporate Communications Team to maintain the social media accounts of both Twitter and Facebook and provided media for the Intranet and Website.

Working for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service as their HSC Co-ordinator, overseeing aspects of the Home Safety Check process. Arranging safety visits to vulnerable people and maintaining CFRMIS (Community Fire Risk Management Information System). I then transferred to a temporary position as Media Services Officer before becoming full time in that role.

Working in the Widening Participation department, liaising with Student Ambassadors; assigning them to the outreach sessions and then sorting their payment and appraisal forms. I was also responsible for maintaining the materials required for each session, the event schedule and the booking of rooms and catering. I also managed the team expense accounts and maintained the office supplies and stationary.

Working in the ‘Acquisition and Audit Team’, phoning and visiting customers who recently signed for Gas or Electricity to discuss the Advisors visit. The role involved completing audits in order for a decision to be made on their training, sales license and bonus scheme. I also trained up other members of the team and my eventual replacement.
