I’m passionate about my work because I’ve learned first-hand the challenges family members face helping a loved one find a quality senior living community, often on very short notice. In my situation, without guidance or a list of appropriate local communities, I had three days to secure a spot in a skilled nursing facility for my mother, who was being released from the hospital in 72 hours!No one should have to go through that process alone and my goal is to make sure finding appropriate care is easier for West Side Cleveland families in similar situations. Oasis’ service is complimentary. I have researched, toured and built relationships with representatives from more than 30 SENIOR LIVING COMMUNITIES ON CLEVELAND’S WEST SIDE. We use a proprietary software system that will then match the senior to one of these communities based on the senior’s health, financial, geographic and lifestyle needs. I’m also interested in developing strong relationships with:• DISCHARGE SOCIAL WORKERS and NURSES representing patients in hospitals, rehabilitation facilities and skilled nursing facilities. Though seniors enter these facilities with the intention of returning home, they often find themselves in need of assisted living or nursing home care instead.• SKILLED NURSING professionals, including administrators. I am interested in collaborating with them to find the right senior living options for their patients who can no longer live on their own and in learning more about the ways in which they meet patient needs.• MINISTERS, RABBIS and other representatives of religious organizations who interact with seniors on a regular basis. As an leader and active volunteer with Westlake Christian Church, I’ve seen that spiritual advisors are often the first to notice when a senior’s health is failing and I can work with them to help these seniors find facilities that meet their needs.
