Directed new travel partnership business (Rental car, on line travel agencies, hotel and rail) for new travel media network. This was a contract assignment.

Managed three departments for the world’s second largest provider of B2B Travel Distribution. Directed customer communications, advertising sales , and P&L responsibilities of $17 million covering U.S., Canada, Mexico, Central and South America. Increased Partner Marketing sales by 25%, spearheaded Interactive digital Lunch Room for employees, and launched four new major new technology products.

Strategic member of team that launched Orbitz. Administered major rental car company partnerships including Hertz, Alamo, National Budget, Avis, and Thrifty. Directed product design, policy, contract negotiation, promotions and advertising sales. Applied matrix design to the Orbitz car rental portion of the site, and was listed as the co-holder of the U.S. patent for Car results display design.Charged with increasing online advertising goal from $1.8 million to $21 million in three years for third largest online travel site. Sales portfolio included Mexican tourism and hotel market, International car rental and Convention and visitors bureaus. Developed successful hotel rooms for advertising barter program, where participating hotels increased rooms 400% and doubled their media spend in year two.

Provided strategic direction for agency channel, representing $433 million in annual revenue. Managed trade marketing budget of $7 million. Coordinated industry events and built up equity in loyalty program, “Unlimited Budget” delivering $39 million in incremental revenue in its first year.

Responsible for GDS marketing for hotel representation company. Supervised a staff of seven in the development of marketing programs and reservation operations for 5 hotel chains including Swissotel, Preferred Hotels, Mandarin Oriental, and Pan Pacific.

Opened and operated reservation centers for Swissotel Chicago and later Swissotel North America. Built independent chain in five GDS and managed an automated worldwide marketing plan.
