Cross-functional & dynamic role, which serves as Market (Regional) Controller and is the key finance point of contact for Operating Company leadership. Partnering with CFOs and their leadership team to provide finance support, expertise, and accounting guidance - including overall financial management of a Market’s general ledger and associated sub-ledgers.

Partner with Finance Leaders throughout the Pacific Market and provide finance guidance, reporting, annual budget support, etc. Create and provide training on new processes, software or visual reporting as needed. Support and report on corporate goals and measures in various manners.

Description of Key Responsibilities:Determine the key drivers of variances versus last year results Identify underperforming customers and vendors and the key drivers of profitability Make recommendations to management to improve profitability Provide specific analysis as to the key drivers of expenses and the key drivers as to variances to last year and to plan Identify opportunities to control costs and reduce expenses Quantify the financial impact of key cost control initiatives Champion of shrink committee, credit committee, and other initiatives Assist Local CFO and Market CFO with the performance of the forecast Work with each department to ensure they understand the overall forecast and how the impact of the key initiatives they are responsible for are reflected in the forecastPlay a key role in the annual operating plan (budget) processEnsure overall trends and the impacts of key initiatives are reflected accurately in the profit plan  Participate in the recruiting and training of finance associates Responsible for performance management and development of finance associates Additionally, I work on special projects for the Market CFO.
