Assistant researcher research into the pathophysiology of ARDS within the Section of Anaesthetics, Pain Medicine and Intensive Care (APMIC), Department of Surgery and Cancer in the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College.I co-developed and executed a basic science, in vivo study exploring the pathophysiology of acute lung injury, centering on the activation of apoptotic mechanisms within lung tissue.Conducted under the expert guidance of Dr Michael Wilson PhD (Senior Lecturer) & Dr Brijesh Patel (Clinical Lecturer), within the laboratory of Professor Masao Takata.

Assistant researcher ‘Barriers to Uptake of Diabetes Education’ (BUDiE) study led by Dr Sophie Harris, Innovation Fellow, within King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust’s Academic Department of Diabetes.My participation concerned a mixed-methods study centering on barriers to uptake of DAFNE Diabetes Education Programmes by people with type 1 diabetes mellitus.The BUDiE study is funded by the NIHR CLAHRC South London and the Health Innovation Network.Our paper 'Healthcare professional attitude plays an important role in attendance at diabetes structured education: analysis of the Barriers to Uptake of type 1 Diabetes Education (BUD1E) study surveys' has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Diabetic Medicine.

Proud audit collaborator and steering committee member with STARSurg.At national level, I am proud to have contributed to two prospective, collaborative, multi-centre cohort studies with the STARSurg collaborative: Defining Surgical Complications in the Overweight (DISCOVER) and Outcomes After Kidney Injury in Surgery (OAKS).Following my positive experience collecting data for STARSurg, I was selected to serve as Secretary & Publicity Coordinator on the National Steering Committee in 2015.DISCOVER has now been published, while OAKS has seen nearly 1,200 collaborators collecting prospective data on 5,800 patients across over 160 hospitals.

Undergraduate researcher within the Department of Critical Care at St Thomas's Hospital. Contributed to safety study led by Dr Stavros Dimopoulos (Severe Respiratory Failure-ECMO Fellow), entitled 'Safety of percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy during veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support in adults with severe respiratory failure'.My participation involved close work with clinical fellows to gather retrospective data on outcomes and complications of this procedure in the high risk patient population.

Undergraduate student researcher on a long-term, part-time basis within the Academic Department of Vascular Surgery, St Thomas's Hospital. The project was conducted as part of my medical degree under the expert guidance of Mr Ashish Patel (NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer in Vascular Surgery).Our project investigated the role of adipose-derived stem cells and pro-angiogenic monocytes for the treatment of patients with “no option” critical limb ischaemia, exploring the impact on arteriogenesis in vitro and in vivo.
