CurrentStrategic communications specialist managing all district communication for outreach to families and community as well as internal communications for district initiatives. Through building relationships with our employees, I’ve cultivated a culture of storytelling within our district to share the daily positive happenings of our students and staff on multiple channels. Send news releases and oversee media inquiries; seek out opportunities to showcase programs and activities of the district and develop talking points for campaigns, news articles or district events.Produce and design an award-winning quarterly district newsletter, the OPS Connection which highlights not only happenings at the school but how our students are giving back to and connecting with the community. This newsletter is sent to all district households (7,000+) and School of Choice families. Generate and maintain all content for the district's websites and social media accounts. Our audience has grown exponentially during my years at OPS and Facebook and Instagram continue to increase fans. I have also overseen three website redesigns.As a member of the administrative team, I serve as counsel and advisor to the superintendent and administrators providing an outside lens to industry discussions and decisions. I also collaborate with department directors to develop communication plans and strategies for initiatives or promotional events. Meet monthly with principals to coordinate building highlights for our communication channels.Handle crisis communications and major communication plans for district initiatives. Serve as Website Accessibility Coordinator, trained in ADA compliance to ensure access to all for our website.Co-led our district's new Strategic Plan with the superintendent using Appreciative Inquiry with various stakeholder groups.
