Graduated and awarded a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Zoology at the University of Southampton as a mature student. I have 15 years combined experience working in customer service, sales and the financial services sector which has taught me the value of business and the importance of good relations. I now look to use these transferrable skills alongside my degree to help people connect more with nature and to safeguard wildlife for the future. The past few years I have gained some valuable experience, mainly in the field. These include the "Secrets of the Solent" project run through the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, "Snakes in the Heather" project run through ARC, volunteering with the RSPB and carrying out bat surveys with an ecological consultancy firm. My love of wildlife led to me purchasing my first camera and becoming a self-taught photographer. Through this, I found myself learning about various species and I knew that I wanted to learn more especially when I started learning more about the threats of our natural world. After reading about different courses online, I decided I wanted to study zoology to expand my knowledge further, knowing this is something I would forever be passionate about.
