This role sat in operations within the Prime Brokerage Business Unit, interacting on a daily basis with a range of teams including the prime brokerage reps and business consulting teams. I have worked extensively in this role to improve my product knowledge across multiple asset classes. My responsibilities include: Ensuring seamless operational on-boarding of new clients.Liaising with clients regarding trade file testing, third party details and use of the MS online portalManaging the account opening process, reporting setups and entitlements.Building relationships with the trading desks and working with them to ensure that the clients are ready for trading and that the traders are aware of client details and preferences.Acting as an escalation point for offshore data management teams and raising issues to senior management as necessary.

I worked in Morgan Stanley’s Equity Derivative Client Service team supporting clients across Europe and the Middle East who trade equity swaps, OTC options and variance swaps with Morgan Stanley. The client base was a mixture of hedge funds and asset managers and client queries often involved complex investigations which demanded a high level of product knowledge. My role included:Maintaining client relationships and resolving a range of client queries including reporting issues, trade discrepancies, booking and allocation queries.Agreement and reconciliation of cash flows.Investigation and resolution of breaks.Ensuring that accurate reporting is received by the correct counterparties.Ensuring that trades were booked in a timely manner.I was responsible for the settlement of equity swap and option trades. This involved the agreement and reconciliation of cash flows, investigation of discrepancies and ensuring trades were booked. The client base was a mixture of hedge funds and asset managers. Working to help develop the expertise of the team both through organising independent training sessions and giving the team presentations across a range of subjects and products.Development of a new-starter guide to support new members of the team during their initial training.
