In my undergrad at Virginia Tech I studied Environmental Resource Management where I got minors in Forestry and Biodiversity Conservation. At this institution I developed many skills in the field such as how to delineate a wetland, conduct a silviculture assessment, and write a management plan. While also shaping other skills including improving my scientific writing, data analyzing, and communication skills. I am now pursuing my Masters in Environmental Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University where, in my time here, I hope to develop many new useful skills. For the past two consecutive summers I have worked at Eastern 4-H Center which is an Environmental Educational camp operated by North Carolina State University. I have been an Adventure Counselor, leading kids through recreational activities and camping expeditions, and as an Ecology Instructor where I taught campers about the ecology of the Albemarle Sound and Wetland Ecology. Through this experience I have had to deal with a variety of difficult situations and have had to adapt on the spot in order to provide a positive experience to campers. This experience has allowed me to develop new skills such as teamwork and creativity as well as increase previously acquired skills, including communication, leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills. I, now, aspire to apply these skills to any position I acquire.
