At the end of September, I joined Caring Services, a specialist recruitment agency that provides temporary and permanent staff for nurseries and schools. My assignments are tailored to my qualifications and preferences, with my first placement at Emmaus Primary School, where I supported a student in year 1 with limited mobility and speech.In this role, I was responsible for their well-being and educational support, including:• Assisting with mobility needs, such as transferring between mobility aids and ensuring her comfort throughout the day.• Helping with meal times, including snacks and school lunches.• Engaging her through both teaching and play activities both indoors and out, while adapting to her specific needs and keeping her safe at all times.• Learning and using elements of her sign language to improve communication and interaction.On days when my assigned child is absent, I assist other students with their work, help organize the classroom, support teachers, and supervise during breaks. This role requires strong mental resilience, adaptability, physical stamina, and excellent communication skills. I remain flexible and ready to be reassigned to different schools or students as needed.

At the beginning of my tenure with X1, I was assigned the role of managing over 400 outstanding council tax bills for vacant flats. This involved updating spreadsheets, sending emails, making calculations, and liaising with the council. Although brief, this role provided valuable exposure to an office environment and demonstrated my adaptability and eagerness to learn.During the Summer Turnaround, I played a crucial role in managing the transition of over 600 student tenancies across three accommodations. My responsibilities included conducting detailed checkouts using the ‘TouchRight’ app to document room conditions, record damages, and manage key returns. I communicated directly with tenants, personally handling all deposit deduction emails and addressing queries or complaints professionally and promptly. Additionally, with limited cleaning staff available I performed deep cleaning in communal areas, kitchens, bedrooms, and ensuites, particularly in cases where rooms were left in poor condition. Following cleaning, I conducted thorough inventories, taking extensive photos to document room conditions for future reference, and prepared rooms by restocking essentials and ensuring cleanliness. I also assisted tenants on move-in days, managing their belongings and resolving any issues to ensure a smooth transition.Throughout my two-month tenure, I worked an additional 20.5 hours of overtime, including four consecutive 10.5 hour shifts, demonstrating my commitment to maintaining high standards. My contributions ensured a seamless transition between tenancies, supported tenant satisfaction, and upheld the quality of the accommodations.

My employment in a small Budgens village shop has given me the opportunity to look at the broad spectrum of retail. I worked as assistant, merchandiser, customer service, till operator, and home delivery organiser. The majority of my time was unsupervised. I was in charge of receiving, unloading and organising new shipments from suppliers, and keeping the shop well stocked. I ensured products were in date and displayed properly, as well as updating labels in the display shelves. I was involved in the development of the shop, creating displays within the store to promote seasonal sales. My shifts were varied and I showed flexibility in accepting last minute changes. In lieu of there being an onsite manager I also addressed customer complaints, ensuring they had the best shopping experience possible. I maintained great relationships with customers, other workers, and management.

My job as Play Worker consisted of looking after both primary and junior school children. Their ages ranged from 5 to 11 years old. I took part in first aid training, safeguarding, recognising FGM and Cyberbullying in order to ensure a child’s safety. At the After School Club, prior to their arrival, I would set up creative and safe play areas for children to enjoy games and activities. I provided healthy food and refreshments before playtime, supervising the children as they ate. I had an individual and key role in creating art and design time for them every week. This group enabled children to learn new skills and create things to take home to family or friends, something they were proud of. Even the most excitable child will sit down and create something to show their parents, carers or friends. I was employed for 3 years and during that time built strong relationships with the children. I am an open, approachable and supportive person which meant that I was able to actively respond to their individual needs, always encouraging them to express themselves when feeling worried, unhappy or shy. I believe art is a good creative output and is remarkable for your mental health. Strong relationships with parents also developed, engaging with them at the end of the day to update on their child’s day.
