Department of Health and Human Services; Health Resources and Services AdministrationHealthcare Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP) in the MSU Denver Health Institute. Health Career Navigators (HCN) work with a diverse student population to prepare them for jobs in the Colorado health workforce. These students are seeking a degree in one of our Health Institute departments and receive training in culturally diverse patient centered care.The Health Institute of MSU Denver has developed two structured programs: The National Ambassadors Program (MSU Ambassadors) and an Adult/Non-Traditional Program (MSU Non-Traditional Program) for veterans and other adult students. The MSU Denver’s Health Institute is housed in the College of Professional Studies. The programs will empower diverse undergraduate students who come from underrepresented economic and educational backgrounds to succeed in our pre-health/allied health programs.

- Communicating via email, phone, online meetings and otherwise with community members, S2W Ambassador, and SkillsCommons Communications and Community Program Manager- Co-developing and revising the project plan for the Editorial Board- Recruiting, facilitating, and managing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) throughout curation process - Oversee the curation of the sector specific rubric and provide interim reports on accomplishments- Design and participate in the project launch meeting- Preparing and facilitating conference calls with SMEs and the IMPACTcommunity Ambassador and SkillsCommons leadership team, when applicable- Providing feedback from and to the community- Collaborating with other editors to overcome challenges and share effective practices - Report progress bi-weekly to the IMPACTcommunity S2W Ambassador- Attending monthly Ambassador community meetings and use communication tools as appropriate.- Perform reasonable tasks that are required to achieve the program objectives that will become apparent over the course of the project- Providing a final report to the IMPACTcommunity Ambassador and the SkillsCommons Communications and Community Program Manager outlining final status of deliverables and an overview of successes and challenges

Leads all grant activities and provides management, guidance, supervision and direction for the project. Responsible for ensuring compliance and timely reporting throughout the grant period. Works closely with ACC's institutional research and finance departments to gather data for required reports. Manages all contractual processes and vendor deliverables for the grant.

-Built workforce and community relationships to increase the number of students receiving workforce funding to complete their degree.-Coordinated the energy program to build industry partners and partnerships with other schools to create more effective degrees that are transferrable to other schools.-Worked directly with students to increase retention and to pursue options to reach college level courses more quickly.-Counseled students, increasing rapport, to support student retention and success in the Developmental Education program.-Collaborated with faculty to increase awareness and student use of workforce funds.-Worked with faculty, deans and the VP of instruction, specifically energy program faculty, to anticipate and meet market demands, improving the program and increasing its viability.-Taught Advanced Academic Achievement, providing students with skills to increase student success.-Collaborated with the Director of Developmental Education to revise and create courses.

Partnering with Community College RN programs around the state to assist students in enrolling in Metro State University to work on the completion of their Bachelor's degree at the same time.Student relationships to increase retention and assist students in their transition through their RN program and to the completion of their BSN program.

- Evaluated and developed processes and managed projects to provide quality services- Prepared documents, such as legal correspondence, and organized and maintained documents in paper and electronic filing system, including documents for federal audits- Analyzed and evaluated documents and data for accuracy and efficiency- Investigated policies and cases and searched pertinent sources, such as public records, to determine causes of action and to prepare cases- Counseled dislocated workers in their job search to achieve reemployment quickly through teaching employment search best practices and the use of labor market data- Provided one-on-one intensive job search assistance to over 150 customers monthly- Developed Individual Employment Plans based on assessment to overcome barriers to employment and evaluated need for training assistance- Accurately recorded all customer contacts and maintained case files to achieve program outcomes and common measures set by the federal government- Facilitated workshops focused on job search and skills for up to 25 adults- Global Career Development Facilitator Certificate

- Taught Government/Politics, US History and Geography, grades 8-11, with a CO Teacher’s and Principal’s license.- Developed, implemented and evaluated common curriculum and assessments, creating quantitative/qualitative data, as the Professional Learning Community Leader- Researched and implemented outcomes, leading professional development for colleagues- Gather and analyze research data, including School Law and current political policies- Build community relationships through volunteer programs for students and parents- Enrolled students in pre college activities to expand their knowledge and encourage their continued education
