Merchandising Operations

•Responsible for the allocation of $1.4 billion of inventory, generating $515.3 million in sales revenue, which was 20% of Total Company inventory.•Increased area of responsibility within first 12 months in role, increasing from 3 to 6 direct reports and increased sales responsibility to $525.3M from $327.4M. •Led, trained, and developed team of Allocation Analysts within 6 merchandise offices in Women’s Apparel; while under my direct leadership 3 were promoted to next role, 2 moved onto larger responsibility roles for secondary exposure. •Selected by Director to be on the Planning and Allocation Recruiting Team for College Campuses- conducted initial screenings, interviews, and case studies for our Retail Development program candidates. Successfully transitioned them into the culture of Belk along with enabling their ability to hit annual performance objectives.•Analyzed current sales trends, inventory levels and prior selling history to develop go forward allocation strategies to drive optimal by door inventory levels while securing store profitability.•Utilized key performance indicators including but not limited to sales volume, seasonality, customer segmentation, square footage (constrained vs. non-constrained) to drive hindsight analysis to improve company productivity by location, division and region.

•Allocation team lead for Private Brand Buy Lifecycle. Developed processes, created excel recap tools, implanted calendar to hit deliverables, and trained 40 allocation and planning associates on new process.•Executed store level sales and margin projections to maximizing company sales and gross margin with a projected sales growth in excess of $4 million for fiscal year. Collaborated with allocation analysts by providing actionable tasks and next step decision making.•Created an analysis tool which provided a view of historical data for our growing eCommerce business. Trained 40 analyst to use this tool to assist with multi- channel sales and inventory forecasting discussions.

•Grew dress department to record breaking $19.2 million in sales (+15% to LY), gross margin 46.2% (+164 basis points to LY); developed merchandise financial plans that supported $80 million merchandise strategies while achieving corporate financial goals.•Provided monthly forecast recommendations which assisted in maximizing in season opportunities through product lifecycle management.•Trained direct reports to take on roles of greater responsibility resulting in 2 of the 3 assistant planners getting promoted to the associate level. Led assistants in delivering projects above the scope of stated job responsibilities. Consistently identified opportunities which aligned to their future career aspirations.
