About Holly Watson
I am currently a trainee underwriter at Hiscox UK. As part of this role I will be taking part in a three month intensive training programme which will give me the foundational skills and confidence to build a career within the insurance sector. I recently graduated with a first class honour in Economic Policy at Glasgow Caledonian University. I was part of the Glasgow City Council summer internship programme in 2021, where I worked within the employability department conducting a research project and was nominated for the 'Intern of the year' award. I have also volunteered at a local community arts and wellness hub, where I was able to support an important cause and build meaningful relationships.In addition to the experience listed, I have over five years of work experience within the hospitality sector where I have honed my communication and interpersonal skills.

Nominee for the 'Intern of the Year' award.During my internship, I worked within the Employability team to oversee a research project. Working with another intern, we designed and held consultations with key stakeholders and service users. The findings and recommendations of our research were collated into a final report and presentation which were presented to internal and external stakeholders and would aid the service design of a new employability programme.
