I oversee operations and manage logistics for the ASNA Clinic Mentorship Network (ACMN), an initiative that encourages networking and shared knowledge between spay and neuter programs across the country. In addition to managing our national program, I provide mentorship to clinic directors and administrative staff outside of the ACMN program, facilitate vet training at our teaching hospital in Asheville, and lead ASNA’s NC Initiative focused on reducing euthanasia in NC shelters by promoting and supporting spay and neuter clinics across the state. I work with multiple departments throughout the ASPCA to build programs and collect data for our Veterinary Training Initiative, assist in budget discussions for ASNA's various programs and management of grant funds, and work with organizations to provide further funding and support.

As Mobile Clinic Director, I continued to act as practice manager and clinic supervisor while also developing new marketing strategies; tracking budgets, income and expenditures; and maintaining reporting and tracking of grant funds and donations. I managed a project to create a Standard Operating Procedures manual for the clinic, a project that involved revising all original clinic policies and writing additional departmental policies that existed separately from the organization's shelter policy manual. I built relationships with local social service nonprofits, including food banks, churches, and community centers. I was able to guide our program through the Covid-19 pandemic, implementing best practices to keep staff and the community safe while continuing to serve animals, families, and shelters in need. I moved clinic operations from paper-based to an electronic cloud-based system, implemented best practices for data tracking and reporting, and oversaw the transition to online registration for the majority of our clients. Before leaving in 2022, I laid the operational groundwork for launching monthly low-cost vaccine clinics as part of the program's access to care goals.

Beginning in 2018, I developed a new mobile spay and neuter program to serve shelters, the public, and their pets. During program launch, I personally supervised all aspects of program development, including the writing and implementation of all policies and procedures, building an ongoing clinic schedule, hiring and managing all staff, writing grant requests for initial funding, and creating marketing materials for social media and for use at community outreach events. I managed clinic licensure with the NCVMB and DHHS to launch the program and continued to satisfy licensing requirements and schedule renewal inspections as required. To ensure structured operations, I developed a clinic budget, annual income goals, and a fee structure to enable the program to reach financial sustainability, and built relationships with rescue groups and shelters across nine counties. As program manager, I was responsible for supervising day-to-day operations of the clinic; creating and processing invoices and payments; maintaining inventory and placing medical orders; and scheduling appointments with shelters and the public.

In this role, I facilitated the placement of rescue animals into foster homes to expand our capacity to intake animals and so that animals in our care could recover from medical procedures, work on behavior and socialization issues, or prevent kennel stress. As program manager, I implemented methods for data tracking to more easily connect foster volunteers trained to care for animals with special medical needs so that incoming animals could be quickly routed to foster homes following intake. I both designed and conducted training sessions that allowed us to expand our network of foster homes. In marketing animals for foster homes, I took photographs, created graphics, and wrote biographies for animals in need, published a regular newsletter marketing animals to our foster network, and maintained the Brother Wolf Fosters Facebook group. I enlisted new foster families through planned recruitment events and social media; screened foster applications, and trained new foster families on best practices for taking foster animals into homes and for marketing animals for adoption from foster.

Post-graduate school, I served as instructor-of-record in introductory composition and survey literature courses at East Tennessee State University, Blue Ridge Community College, and Asheville-Buncombe Technical College. In this role, I taught in-person as well as fully online courses at the university level. My course designs utilized various online platforms, including Moodle and Blackboard, and consisted of 3-4 components across the semester culminating in a final research essay and project that drew from interdisciplinary writing tasks and emphasized critical thinking skills. I worked with non-traditional students at state schools and community colleges to provide support by using hybrid work assignments, implementing adult learning principles, and facilitating the selection of relevant topics for papers and projects. Throughout the semester, I consistently offered feedback on student writing through individual conferences, rough draft reviews, and in-class work.

As a graduate assistant (August 2014-May 2015), I observed and served as an assistant to the professor of a freshman composition class under the University's Writing, Rhetoric, and Critical Studies program.

I acted as the first point of customer service and support for a small but busy real estate and bankruptcy law firm: received all incoming calls, greeted walk-in clients, and scheduled appointments for two attorneys in the practice. I had a pulse on every file in the practice - opening an average of 700 new files per year using TimeMatters, ProForm, and Microsoft Office software, while also drafting letters to clients and attorneys regarding pending litigation. Additionally, I conducted bring-down title searches and filed relevant paperwork in county offices across western North Carolina.
