I worked at a summer camp as part of the kitchen staff team on Cape Cod in Massachusetts in the USA. As a team of 7 we fed 350 campers and staff meals 3 times a day. This job allowed me to develop team working skills with co-workers that came from all over Europe and the USA; and the experience allowed me to develop culturally and demonstrated my ability to cope with demanding work and long hours. I also gained a lot of valuable experience in working with children and participating in assisting with the running of afternoon activities with small groups of children aged 8-12. I also had the opportunities to share and demonstrate knowledge around health guidelines and allergies and intolerance's whilst working in an industrial catering environment.

I have worked within two areas during my time in this role. My first year saw me as an accommodation tour ambassador were I was responsible for leading large groups of potential students on tours of student accommodation and in ensuring a confident but professional attitude was maintained at all times, often dealing with difficult situations. My first year I took on the role of course ambassador were I represented my degree course answering questions and was able to speak to a group of visitors about my experiences as a student.
