Harvard Kennedy School of Government, April - May 2013Using knowledge of Zambian languages, helped clean a research dataset by creating unique numerical indicators for villages whose names had been recorded with variations of spellings and formats.IREX, September - October 2013Reading Committee Member, Community Solutions ProgramReviewed and scored applications from developing countries for the Community Solutions Program.

Served on Quality Based Selection committee which selected Architect/Engineering firms for a retainer contract with the University, including focus on women and minority lead firms. Served on training team for new Capital Improvement Process. Co-presented training session attended by Associate Deans and Provost. Provided direct support to the Director of Architectural & Engineering Services, including drafting and proofreading official correspondence and maintaining calendar.

Music Teacher, on and off between 2005 - 2013. Group and private lessons in guitar, piano, music theory, and music appreciation to children ages 3 and up through adults to students of different nationalities and ethnicities. Prepared lessons, kept a schedule of over 50 students at times, prepared invoices. Camp Deer Creek, Cheswick, PA, Summers of 2011 and 2013Taught music to children ages 4 – 14 in a summer camp setting including sing-along songs, rounds, songs with motions, and beginner xylophone and guitar. Conducted field research on topics including malaria prevention, girl’s education, and AIDS prevention. Represented Harvard Business School in relationships with local partners and Zambian government. Managed teams of surveyors and data enterers. Co-wrote and co-presented syllabus and curriculum for data analysis training of 120 District Health Workers, influencing health data for over 4.5 million people. Organized office, including flow from field, data entry, and filing of over 10,000 surveys. Designed data entry forms, entered data, and assisted in data analysis.

Supervised 8 project managers working in camps, serving over 60,000 refugees. Represented FORGE in relationships with UN Refugee Agency, Zambian Government, and other agencies. Recruited, reviewed application materials, interviewed, selected, and trained groups of college-age volunteers from the University of Pittsburgh, UCLA, Stanford University and Harvard University to develop and execute projects in a refugee camp setting. Managed refugee leaders in projects including a Library, Women’s Center, Health Center, Creative Arts Center, Community Sports League, and Music Class, serving a community of over 20,000 refugees from 5 countries. Fundraised $6000 using various grassroots efforts, including engaging different organizations. Organized logistics for operations in Lusaka including transportation, food, and accommodation for volunteers, and procuring supplies for the camps.
