Manager Of Forensic Novel Pyschoactive Substances (Nps) Research
CurrentRESPONSIBILITIES: I was promoted to Manager of my own department to oversee a team of organic synthetic chemists in the research and development and production of analytical reference standards to improve project management processes by increasing efficiencies, throughput and adhering to strict deadlines all while maintaining high quality standards. I am responsible for maintaining a list of new projects with priority levels and help to triage projects to entire division. I help remove roadblocks were necessary by working with cross functional teams such as regulatory, safety and analytical services to make sure my team has the tools they need to succeed. I continue to oversee the GC-MS unknown substances collaboration with the forensic community and have presented at several conferences as well as gave a full-day workshop to several forensic chemists.RESULTS: My team has developed over 200 analytical reference standards with more being added weekly to the catalog. I have helped our division by increasing R&D vs production efforts when it comes to triaging projects. Through the GC-MS unknown substance collaboration with the forensic community, I have been able to help law enforcement identify several new substances that are being abused.
