I am the author of Invisible Kids: Marcus Fiesel's Legacy (2008), a non-fiction book written to educate about issues facing young foster kids and empower readers to get involved. Invisible Kids has been endorsed by prominent child welfare leaders such as Michael Piraino, former CEO of National CASA and others. It has been required reading in a number of social work and social justice classes at several universities.Buddy: View from the Pumpkin Seat (2018), is fiction, written from the perspective of a nine-month-old baby who is abandoned by his dug-addicted mother and lands in foster care. It is endorsed by Ohio Attorney General Mike Dewine and other leaders.I train nationally on topics related to understanding the needs of abused and neglected infants and toddlers, assessing risk and mitigating trauma.

I was employed at ProKids CASA Program in Cincinnati, Ohio for fourteen years and have extensive experience as a Guardian Ad Litem in Hamilton County Juvenile Court, representing the best interests of abused and neglected children and supervising Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). In 2000, I created ProKids Building Blocks Program: Specialized Advocacy Abused and Neglected Infants and Toddlers. This program was recognized with a Promising Practice Award by the Ohio Attorney General's Office in 2004.

As a Children's Services Ongoing Caseworker, I managed a caseload of families whose children were at risk or alleged to be abused or neglected. Many of these children were placed in foster care and under the jurisdiction of Juvenile Court.As a 241-KIDS Intake Caseworker, I answered phone calls to Hamilton County's Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Line. I determined whether a call rose to the level of an allegation according to the Ohio Revised Code and prioritized and assigned cases.
