I am the author and creator of the award-winning disability and lifestyle blog, lifeofablindgirl.com. I've been sharing my experiences of living with a vision impairment in the hope of raising awareness, tackling misconceptions and helping others who might be in a similar situation since 2015. I also regularly discuss topics such as accessibility, assistive technology, concert experiences, education and employment. My blog has also given me the chance to work with local and national charities on campaigns, as well as write guest blog posts and articles for websites such as AccessAble, Attitude is Everything, Blind New World, Disability Horizons, Scope, and many more. I have also been featured on local radio and in mainstream media outlets including BBC News, Allure Magazine, The Huffington Post and The Guardian.

I was a regular contributor to the Scope for Business (formally The Big Hack by Scope) resource hub, creating educational and informative articles and how-to guides on all aspects of accessibility. I also helped with promotion of content on social media, helping to drive traffic to the hub as well as reach new audiences..

In my role as an Assistive Technology Advisor, I trained students how to use a range of assistive technology to help with all aspects of their studies. I also facilitated workshops on topics such as making social media accessible, how to make referencing accessible for blind and partially sighted students and effective notetaking.I was instrumental in setting up and running the social media accounts for the department which were used to promote services and the support available to students.

I was a regular contributor to the Victa Parent Portal, writing regular blog posts with the aim of providing support to parents/carers of blind and vision impaired children and young people.

Working as a Project Officer for LOOK-UK, my responsibilities included:- Planning and helping to launch a number of projects, including their well-known mentoring scheme.- Recruiting and training new mentors.- Facilitating workshops and training sessions for blind and visually impaired young people.- Updating and creating content for the website.- Planning and creating new blog posts, working with bloggers and content creators to produce content.- Maintaining the day-to-day running of the social media accounts – responding to enquiries and content curation.
