Legislative advocate for the University of Toledo on all state public policy issues. Legislative advocate for the University of Toledo Medical Center on all state public policy issues. Plan and coordinate meetings between the university President and elected officials to discuss legislative issues and proposals. Lobby members of the Ohio General Assembly on behalf of the University. Track legislation and prepared weekly reports. Study proposed legislation to define possible effect on the University of Toledo.

Charged with management of the office for a ranking member of public utilities in the Ohio House of Representatives, with responsibilities being: serving as Senior Political Adviser, overseeing management of third party meetings with energy and utility lobbyists, partnering with the Democratic Policy Aide on the Energy Mandate Study Committee, responding to constituents, managing meetings and scheduling, and demonstrating press management. Conducted legislative work, including the research and drafting of state policy initiatives.Acted as a surrogate for the Representative in stakeholder meetings with advocacy organizations, state agency liaisons, lobbyists and constituents. Designed and crafted the Representative’s stances on multiple issues. Engaged community leaders through constant outreach, and round table discussions. Served as the liaison and caucus staff for the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus.
