Clifford Owens (born 1971, Baltimore, MD) created Anthology in 2011 as a living archive of black performance art and invited an array of artists—some his elders, others his peers or younger—to compose scores, or instructions for a performance, that he would then perform. Anthology was first presented in a solo exhibition at New York’s MoMA PS1 with scores by 26 major artists that were published as a book the following year. Since then, Owens has continued to invite new scores and reinterpret existing ones in multiple performances. He considers Anthology to be a living and breathing archive that expands and evolves. For the December 12 event, Owens selected scores expressly for his hometown and invited Baltimore performers to participate, including musician Wendel Patrick, artist/performer Joyce J. Scott, and teens A'niya Taylor and Christopher Christian Jr., both of whom were selected by an open call audition. The series of performances led the audience in a procession through the museum at night, concluding with an exit through the historic entrance designed by John Russell Pope.

Red Bull Amaphiko Festival The week concludes at Impact Hub Baltimore on North Ave. with a big festival from 3-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 20. Outside, there’s a full day of music with Abdu Ali, Bond St. District and the Deep Sugar dance party to close things out at the surface lot next to Centre Theatre. YNot Lot has a showcase of Academy participants and local makers. Inside Impact Hub, there are talks throughout the day including a student photojournalism showcase and session with Afropunk Festival cofounder Jocelyn Cooper.Muse 360 Arts, an African Centered Youth Leadership, Arts and Education program, give me an opportunity to perform my Summer Project at RedBull Amaphiko Festival July 2017 in Baltimore, Maryland. Red Bull Dance Your Style is all about giving freedom to dancers. From hip hop, to house---locking to popping, there’s no planned choreography or one dedicated style of dance. Dancers participating in Red Bull Dance Your Style will have the dancefloor as their canvas to thrill, surprise, and delight the audience by adapting on the go their chosen style of movement to contemporary music ranging from recent global hits to old time classic beats. Whoever dances the coolest steps, combined with musicality, and manages to ‘wow’ the crowd will win their vote and become winner of Red Bull Dance Your Style!In Summer July 2019 I was granted to do a open performance at Red Bull Dance Your Style Performance in Washington D.C.
