As the Staff UI Engineer and Accessibility Lead, I led the Design Systems Team and all accessibility initiatives. Taking an accessibility-first approach, I helped to build, test, document, and implement all the design system components from the ground up using React, Typescript, and Sass (CSS). In addition, I conducted quarterly accessibility reviews and implemented and maintained the company's Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT). As a Lead and individual contributor, I served as a mentor and worked with various departments. I was also responsible for implementing product features using Test-driven development methods, modern front-end standards, collaborating with others to build the best solutions, reviewing code, and triaging issues.

As a Sr. UI Engineer for UserTesting, my primary focus was helping to maintain a consistent UI experience throughout our core products. This included developing and maintaining our design system using Stencil JS, (Sass) CSS, and Hugo. In addition to my UI responsibilities, I also led the Accessibility Guild, which promoted the development of accessible products through clean, semantic code to meet the WCAG 2.1 Level AA Success Criteria.

I was the Lead Developer for the Front-end Development Team at Chico’s FAS, Inc. I worked on various web-based projects supporting our three brands: www.chicos.com, www.soma.com, and www.whitehouseblackmarket.com daily. I was responsible for ensuring that our web-based projects adhered to modern standards with a heavy focus on detail, using HTML, Javascript, jQuery, and vanilla CSS. I was responsible for co-developing and maintaining a design system that allowed our creative and development teams to produce production-ready prototypes that aligned with three very different brand style guides. As an accessibility advocate and subject matter expert, my active input helped to reduce online accessibility issues and provide better experiences for our customers. Recognizing the need to grow and learn, I was instrumental in establishing ongoing training for my team and our business partners.

As a UI Developer of the Web Design Team for Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. I was responsible for the site design and development of several consumer web-based projects, both domestic and international, while I managed a team of designers and developers located inBrazil. I was also responsible for designing consumer-focused Flash experiences, designing UI’s, prototyping Java-based applications for all of South America, and maintaining the continuing education website. I worked closely with several internal and external marketing agencies to design and build professional WCAG 1.0 Level AA and 508-compliant websites. Upon completing any project, I was responsible for initial testing and other verification methods.

As the Lead UI Designer for this medical software startup, I was responsible for the design of all corporate web projects, intranets, online presentations, and layouts. I alsomaintained and managed all corporate Internet projects and the corporate intranet. I also designed use case analysis and the information architecture for all websites and portals. I also worked closely with clients to design and build customized web portals and GUIs for various web-based Java applications from start to finish. Once a project was signed off and completed, my team tested the portals and applications before publishing them to the web.
