I work as a real estate broker. I am responsible for helping people to buy and sell properties. In order to do so, I must provide excellent customer service. I perform property searches based upon my client’s needs, and then show them the properties. This is usually a process of refining and prioritizing wants vs needs. I also write real estate contracts, fill out disclosures, check for proof of funds, and negotiate terms of the contract for my clients. I must be knowledgeable about the local communities and property values as well as taxes. This helps me when I am doing a market analysis for a property. I work right alongside mortgage lenders and bankers to ensure that my clients have all of the right paperwork, and are finding a home in their price range. I even have to develop good relationships with home inspectors, insurance agents, and appraisers. I have to follow National, State and Local Real Estate Board rules. This means that I am always taking classes to make sure that my real estate license and education are current.
