Translational Research in Thyroid Cancer:‐ Biomarker Discovery to identify molecular markers for early detection of thyroid cancer.‐ Pre-clinical studies to evaluate novel viro-therapeutics for aggressive thyroid cancer.‐ Mechanisms involved in disease onset and progression of follicular thyroid cancer.

Basic and Translational research in Thyroid cancer: ‐ Demonstrated for the first time the PAX8/PPARgamma translocation functions as a favorable modulator of tumor growth in follicular thyroid cancer via modulation of multiple tumor suppressors including PTEN and microRNAs miR-122 and miR-375. ‐ Completed preclinical studies to test therapeutic efficacy of various viro-therapeutic agents for aggressive cancers.

Identified Heparan Sulfate as a receptor for the high neurovirulent Theilers virus entry into cells in a mouse model of Multiple Sclerosis.Developed cell surface targeted monoclonal antibodies to inhibit Theiler's virus entry into mammalian cells.

Conducted basic research on the role of the Hepatitis B virus X protein (HBx) in Liver Cancer.
