About Hong Do

Hong has about fifteen years working in development and humanitarian work with different actors and donors such as ADB, USAID, United Nations, INGOs and the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. Hong experienced project managing with a strong background in Climate Change Adaptation and Urban resilience. She has over 10 years of experience in coordinating and implementing development projects, providing technical advice, and managing knowledge including thematic sectors such Disaster preparedness and response, Urban planning, Livelihood, , Water and Sanitation, Gender and Disability, Cash Transfer and House repairing. She has worked with a diverse set of stakeholders such as Vietnam government offices including MARD, MONRE, mass organizations, namely Vietnam Red Cross at different levels, Women Union and local NGOs to provide support to vulnerable and affected populations. She has a Master of Science in natural resources management from the Cologne University of Applied Sciences with scholarship from Eramus and DAAD. Her master’s research focuses on the topic of Urban resilience and Climate Change ‘Improving urban planning to build resilience in the face of climate change: The Case of Hai Phong City, Vietnam’ which is utilized with a wide range of theories, concepts and approaches, including the ARUP/Rockefeller Foundation City Resilience.Hong is passionate about empowering local communities to adapt to the challenges of climate change and is committed to driving sustainable development through innovative and inclusive approaches.
