Currently contributing to projects involving secondary and post-secondary education, and youth development. Assists senior staff in qualitative and quantitative research and analysis, project implementation, and other necessary tasks. Responsibilities include assistance with recruitment, interfacing with study participants, developing and executing data collection protocols, data management and cleaning, data analysis, and report writing.

Assisted lead teachers in classroom of students with diverse learning styles and developmental needs by creating developmentally appropriate lesson plans for educational programs, supervising children, maintaining the classroom, and communicating with parents and other caregivers.

Developed an artistic and educational summer camp that serves refugee youths who have recently arrived to the U.S. Students of various ages will explore narrative building and photography. The summer camp will be organized by weekly thematic lesson plans focused on elements of storytelling by means of writing, reading, and documenting experiences with a camera. This project will be established within the youth department of World Relief’s Chicago office. The primary goal of the summer camp is for students to have a positive educational and creative experience that provides them with the space and support to foster the following skills; English language, reflection of experiences, and emotional processing.

Worked with Dr. Dana Suskind and fellow researchers on studying the implementation of a parent-centered initiative to promote reading and talking to children in lower income households. Coded videos assessing child interest in reading and mothers’ quality of reading. Transcribed videos of parent and child interaction on Datavyu, and taught other researchers how to use Datavyu and coding systems.

Budapest, Hungary

Worked with a Professor at the Institute for the Psychology of Special Needs'Bárczi Gusztáv' Faculty of Special Education. Focused on the ongoing research project to develop a game based early screening system for high functioning cases of Autism Spectrum Disorders. Studied practical goals and empirical foundations of the project (ie, early recognition of ASD), the basis of the script of the game (Sodian & Frith's classical work on strategic deception), and two of its technological-methodological components: eye-tracking and automated emotional facial expression recognition.

Assisted with recreational programs and community events for adults and children with disabilities. Collaborated with other recreation leaders to create engaging and ability-appropriate recreational activities for participants. Ensured all safety protocols were followed and implemented.
