Thanks to TangibleCodes I was thrilled to join the 𝐙𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐜𝐫𝐲𝐩𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 mobile team. Together, we are improving the existing SDK that connects Android to the Zcash network, allowing Android apps to send and receive transactions quickly, securely, and privately. In addition, we are creating a first-party wallet app for Android leveraging the Zcash Android SDK. The main goal was to exercise the SDK and related Zcash libraries and demonstrate how the SDK works. See more in the Project section, please.

This pseudo-work experience goes through all my previous projects and is meant to be used as a description of my freelancing experiences. Although I keep this position up-to-date with the latest technologies I use, more of them can be found in the Skills section. Why freelancing? I enjoy how it constantly requires me to learn and use new technologies. It provides me with meeting new colleagues, companies, and products. I also appreciate how it helps improve my overall overview, and won't let me rest on my laurels. How am I? My colleagues would probably talk about how I love to have things done, probably also about how I'm keen on details, and very possibly about how I always find something to improve when reviewing their code :) What about my previous projects? My previous projects' duration is usually somewhere between one to two years, depending on the project duration. But at the beginning of my career, I was fortunate to join a small software company oriented on public transport, well-being, or app for the visually impaired. I spent there several years adopting many new technologies on many projects. That's why is my Projects section a bit more comprehensive.On the other hand, I was always open to permanent employment as well.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭?Can you imagine a movie composed of every day of your life? Or would you pay everything to see your child grow up again? Or do you just want to keep all of your great memories? This is what Daylee can do for you. It's easy. Daylee will help you record a video, take a photo, draw or type something, then add a text note, set your location (only if you want), or even attach what you did or how you felt throughout the day and save it to your private cloud storage, accessible only to you. And then easily combine all these records to create your great life movie!𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭?Project Daylee brings several skilled engineers, and designers together. We have a small flexible team, in which can everyone influence further project development. The Daylee community helps with the project texts translation as well. It all started in 2017 as an idea. Later that year, we started to put the pieces together and finally in 2019 we launched the first version of Daylee for Android and iOS. It was a big challenge, but it was worth it. And I believe we have created something special.𝐌𝐲 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭?I'm the founder (father) of this project :) I participate in the team leadership and I also help to keep things going to deliver the latest new features, which enhance user experience with our mobile apps. I participate in graphic design and marketing as well. As it's our hobby project, we greatly work on its automation, so we can focus more on the project development than on its maintenance. The mobile apps' architecture is full of challenging technical solutions like core video cuttings feature with FFmpeg, serverless architecture connected to the user's Google Drive or Apple iCloud, or custom stunning animations created by our motion designer for Lottie.See more about its technical solution in the Projects section, please.

I was given trust in managing the Android development of several parts of the overall payment software solution for portable payment terminals from Sunmi company running on Android OS. This was a very different work experience in comparison with a regular mobile application development process. I had to learn and apply different restrictions and requirements which come from the world of credit card payments. For more details about this position please see the Projects section.

I was very happy to have a chance to join a small, but very progressive and experienced team of several people, who aim to build a solution for the smart sharing of virtual business cards for smartphones. Although we hadn't a chance to release the apps due to the project was paused, the entire cross-team cooperation with the iOS and backend engineers or designers was great. This was quite a unique experience of building a startup with a few very experienced people behind it. The whole idea was to provide an efficient tool for parking cars on crowded streets, simply put. There are drivers and spotters who cooperate together on successful car parking. It's like a social game for these two groups of users. Drivers exchange and indicate available parking lots which they are leaving. If they are successful they get rewarded by other drivers. And spotters find and provide information about where parking is available. If they are successful they get rewarded by drivers as well. We built quite a solid software solution on top of geofencing and real-time database technologies, which worked well. My role in this project was the Android part of this solution from scratch.There were tricky parts e.g. the whole user location handling or currently running parking flow state handling. But I was very thrilled to bring the first version of this app to life. Please, see more about the solution in the Project section.

A big portion of independence, project management, graphics designing, and backend API shaping were significant aspects of this position, in which I stayed for about 4 years. The Apps Dev Team company learned me a lot about overall software development, as well as its management. I was thrilled to be part of all the product stages beginning from its design, implementation, test, and then release and maintain as well. I helped the company to establish its Android team and was a crucial member of it. We took over quite big projects like IDOS - the number one application for searching connections in public transport in the Czech Republic with 1,000,000+ downloads in Google Play and approx. 500K daily users. Or we built the Můj svět zdraví offline first mobile app from scratch, which purpose is to record users' lifestyle for later check by their nutritionist. An interesting project for me was also the Skimdevil - a robotic pool cleaner controlled by our mobile app via Bluetooth API. We created games too. Like Hide & Find game for mobile, which was big fun to build. I should also mention our cooperation with local Masaryk University too, as we created useful tools for them too, like the Dystest mobile app for the diagnosis of specific learning disorders in university students, or Daleth, a mobile app that is a nationwide library gateway of accessible documents for visually impaired students. When I was searching for a topic for my Master's thesis in 2015, I knew that it has to be something new and exciting. And the Android TV was it at that time. So I searched and found a school teacher, who was connected to a company with a streaming platform business. It ended up as an internship for the company. The main goal was to customize Android OS firmware to be suitable for a TV set-top box running the customized Android OS. The next main part of the thesis was to build a launcher application and design its UI according to the paradigms of the Android TV platform. The whole practical part of creating the custom OS with its own launcher was really fun and I enjoyed it. I learned a lot new at that time, as the system customization and the overall new topic of Android TV OS required it.For more details about the thesis, please see section Publications.

I worked in this position as a technical operator for several IT projects, including complex systems which transport electric energy from Europe to Great Britain called Britnet. Or I helped end-user customers with setting up their new mobile network provider in service called Plus4U. Unicorn is quite an interesting world of services, and I was part of more of them. Backward I find this job very useful for developing several soft skills like communication or immediate problem-solving.

Working internship during my studies. We were developing a single-purpose Android app for a tablet sothe waitress could place an order directly at the customer, close a bill and print it wirelessly away fromthe cash desk, etc. I have learned how to develop for Android, but my main goal in this project was to build wireless communication between the Android app and remote cash desc printer (Star printer) for printing bills.
