Published Childrens Book Author/ArtistHoong Yee Lee Krakauer 2008 - PresentIn 1994, my picture book, "Rabbit Mooncakes" was published by Little, Brown & Company. It sold out of its first run of 10,000 copies throughout the United Kingdom and its Commonwealth countries including Canada and the British West Indies. It is currently in the elementary reading curriculum in 19 states across the country.I write and illustrate stories for children as picture books and as narrated storytelling experiences. I create study guides and literacy guides to accompany my books and stories for teachers and school librarians to use in their classrooms and libraries.I was commissioned to create a retelling of "Pecos Bill", an American tall tale. What a dream come true for a wannabe cowgirl from Queens! This opportunity has sparked my interest in the reinventive quality of a tall tale and how it evolves with each retelling.In addition to writing these stories, I write about trends and thoughtful practices in the nonprofit sector. Cultural equity in leadership, diversity, business as unusual and visionary policy are some of the areas I am currently fascinated by.
