Provide one-on-one and small group instruction in COBOL, JCL, RDz, z/OS, and ISPF. Interpret system messages and outputs in order to identify and diagnose coding issues. Assist students in debugging COBOL and JCL code.

Provided instructional design assistance for librarians, including: developing and refining learning outcomes, creating and implementing in-class assessments, and planning and delivering active learning activities. Developed and delivered professional development offerings for Learning Commons librarians and staff. Created instruction-focused internship program for Syracuse University iSchool students and serves as site supervisor for three to four interns per semester which includes delivery of instructional design training and assessment of intern performance against key institutional indicators. Planned and taught face to face information literacy instruction sessions. Provided in-person and virtual reference assistance to students, faculty, and community members.

Contributed to learning outcome and curriculum reviews. Assisted in the exploration and development of new tracks. Served as a subject matter expert in the areas of instructional design, pedagogy, assessment, program development, and information literacy.

Advised librarians and departmental teaching faculty in the articulation of learning outcomes, development of assessments, and design of instruction. Identified professional development areas for librarians and generated opportunities and resources to meet needs, including: one-on-one consultations, online resources, co-teaching and observation opportunities, and workshops. Designed and led professional development opportunities for departmental teaching faculty. Provided reference assistance to students and faculty. Founded the UNLV Libraries Teaching Circle.

Served as the lead research librarian. Defined, created, and implemented a graduate-level course-aligned library instruction program. Library liaison to the departments of Political Science, Economics, Urban Studies, and Psychology. Partnered with faculty and students to establish, teach, and assess student learning outcomes. Collaborated with faculty to analyze and improve collections in assigned areas. Assisted faculty and students with research requests through consultations and the development of online learning objects. Provided outreach to both campus and off-campus groups to promote and deliver library instruction and reference services. Taught a 3-credit first-year seminar titled, “Dude, Where’s My Cape: Reading and Understanding Graphic Novels,” supported by a 2009 Trinity University QEP Information Literacy Grant.
