Mental Health Ambassadors is a peer-led program which advocates for mental health care and wellness of fellow students, acting as liaisons between administrators & students; worked in conjunction with counseling & prevention services departments at NCSU. This student lead program's mission is to reduce stigma around mental health and break down barriers for all students to access support and treatment on campus. As a MHA, I became a certified peer educator through the BACCHUS initiative of NASPA. -Co led weekly "Start the Convo" drop-in space for NCSU peers. Facilitated group discussions with the goal of fostering connection among students, creating space to develop social skills and diminish the stigma surrounding the discussion mental health. Ensured group norms of respect trust and compassion were maintained. - Developed and administered specific presentations for the campus and local community on topics including suicide prevention, healthy relationships, and stress management. - Presented orientation psychoeducational presentations to Incoming students regarding available on campus mental health and wellness services and policies. -Co led weekly mental health & wellness drop-in space for NCSU peers. Facilitated group discussions with the goal of fostering connection among students, creating space to develop social skills and diminish the stigma surrounding the discussion mental health. Psychology Curriculum Studies-Constructed comprehensive literature review of over 50 articles relating to the structure of the undergraduate psychology curriculum. -Independently synthesized Excel dataset of Psychology degree program curriculums for all UNC colleges. -Conducted a comparative analysis of programs regarding required, offered and prerequisite courses as well as other program characteristics.-Assisted in writing a research paper that will soon be published in The Teaching of Psychology journal. -Presented poster summarizing research findings at North Carolina Undergraduate Research Symposium.
