Hi! I'm Hope Hayashida, a third-year undergraduate at UCLA, majoring in Psychobiology on the Pre-Medicine track. While my journey initially aimed towards a career in medicine, recent experiences have led me to pivot towards law.My exploration into healthcare began with aspirations of becoming a physician, driven by a desire to understand the complexities of mental and physical health. Through internships at Kaiser Permanente and shadowing doctors abroad in Italy, I gained invaluable insights into patient care and interdisciplinary collaboration. However, it was during these experiences that I discovered a keen interest in the operational aspects of healthcare and the legal implications therein.Additionally, I currently hold a position as an executive board member of Dermatological, UCLA's premier pre-medicine dermatology club, serving as the Secretary. While my initial involvement stemmed from a passion for medicine, I've discovered that my strengths lie elsewhere, particularly in organization, leadership, and collaboration. Within Dermatological, I excel in logistical responsibilities, managing communications between board members and general members, and overseeing the organization and maintenance of the club's files and resources, such as the shared Google Drive. This role has not only allowed me to contribute to the club's success but has also provided me with valuable insights into my professional strengths and interests.As I transition towards a career in law, I am eager to leverage these skills and experiences to pursue opportunities where I can continue to make a positive impact and drive meaningful change.Outside of my academic and professional pursuits, I enjoy cooking, playing basketball, modeling, and spending quality time with friends and family. Fueled by a strong work ethic and a passion for the legal field, I am poised to make a meaningful impact in my chosen profession.
