I am a graduate of Florida State University with an undergraduate degree in Criminology. I was also blessed with the opportunity to play football for their program as well. I received my master’s degree in Public Administration, graduating with honors, magna cum laude. After I obtained my Masters in May of 2019, I decided to further my education and hone my skills in the field of Human Resources. I attained another addition to my credentials, as I received a graduate certificate, again graduating with honors, summa cum laude from Purdue University Global. Within the graduate certificate program, we focused on the laws pertaining to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, how to determine base salaries for positions, the worth of employees credentials, budgeting, reduction in force circumstances, creating onboarding programs, benefits packaging, and recruiting. I currently have over 15 years experience in corporate America taking on large roles such as General Manager of a fitness club, where I was responsible for not only overseeing a sales department but taking on the role of an operational manager as well. I then worked for a sports supplement company where I excelled very quickly into the role of a regional manager where my team and I lead the company in sales for multiple months. With a shift in the tides, I switched careers and started working in Higher Education at Purdue University Global. I have worked in many departments, giving me the opportunity to see all sides of the business. This prepared me for the current position I hold as a manager in the financial aid department. Not only do I take on the role of overseeing a team, but am held responsible for making sure I know any and all federal regulations when it comes to financial aid, being the point of contact and a leader for other employees. As a manager, I have made sure that my team has met all compliance and quality assurance scores and goals. My greatest accomplishments in the fields I have had the opportunity to work in, is seeing the success of the teams and employees I have led. I have always been a big believer in a profound quote by Richard Branson where he states “Train people enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they do not want to”. Making sure that my knowledge and leadership skills are continuously growing has been the key to my success in corporate America. I am very keen to take on new responsibilities with bigger operations and high challenges. I am a very fast learner and can adapt to new situations.
