Hosna holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from McMaster University. She received her B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology in 2015 and her M.Sc. in the same field from Sharif University of Technology in 2018.In October 2019, Hosna joined the Centre for Mechatronics and Hybrid Technologies (CMHT) and began her Ph.D. studies in September 2020. Her Ph.D. research centered on developing algorithms for fault detection and diagnosis in internal combustion engines (ICEs) and power electronics, crucial for vehicle performance, reliability, safety, and emissions control.She received the EGS Professional Development Award from McMaster University in 2022, recognizing her efforts to enhance skills relevant to her research.In 2023, Hosna was named a Future Leader for her contributions to McMaster Engineering Co-operative Education and her innovative fault detection algorithm for Belt Starter Generators (BSGs) at EECOMOBILITY.In 2024, she received the Best Oral Presentation award at the CREST conference, further demonstrating her communication skills and expertise.Hosna's areas of expertise include Signal Processing, Data-driven Fault Detection, Diagnosis and Prognosis, Multivariate Statistical Process Control, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Artificial Intelligence Algorithms.
