Md. Imam Hossain has more than 4 years of research experience in Public Health, Microbiology and Immunology. During his B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, worked in the Microbiology and Molecular Biology lab as a Research Assistant on two projects (a) Microbial and Molecular characterization of street food pathogens and (b) Isolation and antibiotic resistance pattern of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Also during his M.Sc. in the same subject, he completed his thesis on "Evaluation of antibody response after COVID-19 vaccination among the migrant peoples in Bangladesh" under the emerging infections program in Infectious Diseases Division (IDD), icddr,b. During his thesis work, he developed a Research protocol, Research method design, Data collection tool, and worked on Literature review, Data analysis, Manuscript writing and publishing, Report writing, etc. He performed immunological laboratory techniques such as ELISA, ECLIA in Immunobiology, Nutrition and Toxicology laboratory. Now he is working as a Research Fellow under the Enteric and Respiratory Infections Program, IDD, icddr,b. In the meantime, he has been engaged in Microbiological and Immunological research from a Public Health perspective, completed 7 projects, and published some articles in internationally renowned journals such as "PLOS ONE", "Frontiers in Immunology" as the first author, "Annals of Oncology" as the second author, "International Journal of Community Medicine and Public Health" as the third author and so on. Moreover, he was awarded a “National Science and Technology (NST) fellowship (2020-21)” in Biology & Medical Science from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Imam received a travel grant at the JSMO (Japanese Society of Medical Oncology) conference, 2022, in Kyoto, Japan for his significant survey research work about lung cancer in Bangladesh. In addition, his scientific startup's project "Waste2Product" was awarded in the top 250 among 7000+ projects from a countrywide competition which is jointly organized by Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) and the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh under the Ministry of Posts Telecommunications and Information Technology, Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. As an independent researcher, he is willing to join any Research organization, Pharmaceutical company, Academia, Biotech company, NGOs, etc. He is also looking for his #PhD in #Microbiology and #Immunology to better understand #microbial_infection_strategy and #host_immune _response.
